About DEFIANT ACADEMY: Allow me to introduce myself. I am the owner of Defiant ProWrestling, and Defiant Academy, Mike Milano. I have been involved in Professional Wrestling for almost ten years. Defiant Pro Wrestling has been in business for five years in the Waterbury and Wolcott area of Connecticut. After much speculation, the decision was made that there was a terrible void that needed to be filled in Connecticut. That void being a reliable and dependable place for people, such as yourself, to enter into the fascinating world of Professional Wrestling. A place was needed to teach eager minds the proper way to conduct themselves both in and out of the ring. With the help of many people, Defiant Pro Wrestling has filled that void. Defiant Pro Wrestling's main base of operations, as well as the home of Defiant Academy is at 1261 Meriden Road in Wolcott, CT. Not only will Defiant Academy give you the tools you need to become a Pro Wrestler, Manager, Valet, Referee, or Announcer, it will give you a place to ply your trade in front of real fans, in a real Pro Wrestling event atmosphere. I say this because Defiant Pro Wrestling holds no less than four events, EVERY month. There is no other independent Wrestling promotion that can say that. I am very proud to formally announce that former DPW Champion, and independent wrestling standout, Slyck Wagner Brown has signed on to be the senior trainer for the new Defiant Academy. Slyck is certainly a credit to this new endevour. He is a twelve - year veteran of this industry as well as a head trainer for WWE Hall of Fame inductee, Walter "Killer" Kowalski. The assistant trainers, who you will learn a little more about later on, are Nocturne and Chris Mooch. Others such as Vik Dalishus, Big Jim Sullivan, Ariel and Billy King have also expressed interest in lending a helping hand as well. Unlike other facilities you may encounter, EVERYTHING has been cleared through the town and is completely within the parameters of legality. There is also a ton of parking! ABOUT OUR TRAINERS: SENIOR TRAINER: Slyck Wagner Brown:"The Underground King" Defiant Academy Senior Trainer Slyck Wagner Brown is a 12-year veteran of New England independent wrestling. Trained by late WWE Legend Killer Kowalski, Brown has wrestled his way to championship gold in no less than 10 distinct promotions - including becoming Heavyweight Champion of Defiant Pro Wrestling. He has been featured in Ring of Honor, Total Nonstop Action, and World Wrestling Entertainment, noted for his technical prowess as well as his skills in training. After solidifying his own fundamentals, Brown was later recognized for his talent and asked to become Head Trainer for Killer Kowalski's training facility. Assistant Trainers: Nocturne: "The Lurking Horror" Assistant Trainer and Shelton native Nocturne has been wrestling in New England for the better part of 8 years. He was trained at USA Pro Wrestling School by Bert Centeno and later Tom Prichard, Christopher Daniels, and Mike Quackenbush. Nocturne's incomparable personality and singular American Cruiserweight style (peppered with Mexican Lucha Libre influences) have led him to capture Defiant Pro Wrestling's Cruiserweight, Tag Team,and Heavyweight Championships. His distinctive array of talents are now being passed along to a new generation of wrestling students at Defiant Academy. Chris Mooch: "The Stratford Red Devil" Assistant Trainer Chris Mooch has been wrestling in New England for 5 years. Mooch's decorated amateur wrestling career at Stratford High School was well documented in local press, including the New Haven Register and Connecticut Post. A lifetime fan of wrestling and a true "student of the game," Mooch was trained initially by Jason Knight. Mooch's intensity and passion have steered him to become the first Defiant Pro Wrestling's Television Champion and he now shares his technique with Defiant Academy's students.
